GHAAPD- 

The Mission-

The Mission is to assist a person with a physical disability with either the rehabilitation or habilitation process by fostering a more healthy self esteem through successful participation in physical activity enhancing the chances of an independent lifestyle.

The objectives are:

1. to provide competitive and recreational opportunities
2. to support the development of community based after-school sports and recreation programs for school age youth
3. to support community-based groups to form new or additional sports programs
4. to conduct local and national competitive events
   5.  to conduct or support educational programs including clinics to instruct and inform the community on the various sports and recreational opportunities.
   
   Eligibility
   
   Anyone with a physical disability is eligible. However, they must have the capacity for independent mobility as GHAAPD does not support the "buddy system" format.
   
   The Funding-
   Supplied through the generous contributions from individuals, civic groups, and corporations. GHAAPD does not receive tax dollars from the government or any other funding agency. Additionally, the amateur athletes competing in out-of-town events must raise their money for the transportation and lodging cost.
